In May 2021, the project “Solar Park with Photovoltaic 3D-printed Trees: Technology Allies with Nature,” which I supervised, participated in the nationwide online (due to COVID restrictions) Science and Engineering Competition “STEM STARS GREECE,” organized by SciCo in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Greece. In this competition, my team achieved third place.

With this success, we qualified for the final of the world’s largest Science and Engineering Competition for high school and college students up to 20 years old, the “International Science and Engineering Fair” (ISEF), representing Greece and winning 3 awards. These remain the only awards our country has received in this competition to date.
Note: The competition was held online due to COVID-19 restrictions.

In the competition, my team received the following awards:
Edison International Award – $1,250
Ricoh Sustainable Development Award – $10,000
Mawhiba Universal Award – $1,500
The project of my team is:
EGSD043T — Solar Park with Photovoltaic 3D-printed Trees: Technology Allies with Nature

My team remains to this day the only Greek team to have been awarded in the world’s largest Science and Engineering Competition (ISEF).
NOTE: The names of the students are not displayed for privacy reasons (GDPR).

Additionally, for the same project, my team won the second prize in the Hellenic Physical Society (EEF) Competition.
